Entering Australia with a local team that works in Chinese

An English website, overseas social content, English customer service and phone answering, built in Melbourne for how readers and search work here, and managed with you in Chinese.

Where it usually gets stuck

An English website for a company going abroad usually gets made one of two ways: machine-translate the Chinese site, or have a domestic vendor lay out an English version in the domestic style. To a reader here they look the same: not local. Search engines reach a similar verdict.

Enquiries from overseas customers arrive by email, WhatsApp and phone, and the time difference lands them in the middle of the night at home. A night shift, or a reply the next day, both spend the first impression.

Localisation means redoing page structure, contact details, units, privacy wording, and the way Google and AI answers index the site, the way this market does them. Swapping the words for English is the smallest part.

The three lines that apply

Each line states what you need, what we provide and what you receive. The images are finished work, not concepts.

    Digital product engineering

    Front-end design and full-stack development

    You need
An English website that reads as local in the target market, findable by Google and by AI answers, and maintainable by the team at home.
    We provide
Built from zero by the Melbourne team: English copy written for local readers, separate URLs per language, structured data and sitemap in place, contact details and compliance wording by Australian rules. The site you are reading and the bilingual site of the Dongguan Fumuyuan Red Sandalwood Museum were both built this way.
    You receive
The live English or bilingual site, technical documentation and acceptance scripts.

How it starts

01

Map the workflow

We look at how the work runs today and where the time and money go. Facts only, no proposal yet.

02

Pick one testable case

One scoped case, with the success criteria and the acceptance method agreed in writing before anyone builds.

03

First working version in two to four weeks

A version that runs, not a prototype demo. If it misses the criteria fixed in step two, we keep working until it meets them, within the same scope.

04

Hand it over so you can change it

You get the docs and the acceptance scripts, plus how to change it later. If you stop working with us, it keeps running.

Questions we get asked

  • How are you different from a web agency in China? The team is in Melbourne. Pages are made for local readers and local search engines; contact details, time zone and compliance wording follow Australian rules. We work with you in Chinese and deliver in English.
  • We have a team at home. Which part do you take?Usually the target-market end: the English site, overseas content, English customer service and call answering. Your team keeps product and supply, and the two sides hand over at interfaces written down in advance.
  • What about the time difference?Hours are 09:00 to 22:00 Melbourne time (AEST), which covers most of the working day in Beijing. Customer enquiries and calls are answered by the system first and handed to the person you name when needed.
  • How long does it take, and how is it priced?Once the case is scoped and the acceptance criteria are written, a first version usually takes two to four weeks. Pricing is per scoped case, not per hour; there is no price list on the site.
  • Is there work we can look at?The site you are reading, with a separate URL for each language, and the bilingual site of the Dongguan Fumuyuan Red Sandalwood Museum. The Work page has numbers you can reproduce.
